ABOUT BIOANGELS
- BioAngels
is a not-for-profit corporation whose mission is to facilitate investment
in startup and early-stage medical and life sciences businesses in the
Midwest.
- BioAngels
holds dinner meetings approximately every other month at which two or
three companies make dinner presentations. Also, at most dinners there
will be a pre-presentation talk on a relevant topic, such as investing
terms, patents, DNA, distribution alternatives, etc.
- Members
receive the benefit of reviewing pre-screened investment opportunities
in an environment of shared interest, cooperation and camaraderie. For
membership information, see “Membership.”
- The
BioAngels Screening Committee is composed of members who are industry
experts, and includes renowned scientists, physicians, venture capitalists
and high level executives who have extensive experience in supporting,
managing and/or investing in early-stage life sciences companies.
- Presenting
companies must be early-stage life science or medical device businesses
located in the Midwest who are seeking seed investment, meaning generally
up to $1 million. To apply to be a presenting company, please see “Presenting
Company Application” below.
- BioAngels
is not a fund, nor does BioAngels represent investors or companies seeking
financing. BioAngels does not receive a percentage of funds raised or
any other sales or brokerage commission. BioAngels is supported wholly
by membership dues, dinner admittance fees, presenter fees and sponsorships.
